Cat7 from UTP Cat7 Patch Cord Cable Suppliers can also support 10 Gbps, but lab tests have successfully shown its ability to transmit up to 40 Gb at 50 meters and even 100 Gb at 15 meters. Newer "Class F" cables can support frequencies up to 600 Mhz. That said, Cat7 has not been approved as a telecom cable standard.
Cat7 provides extensive shielding to reduce signal attenuation and is relatively stiff compared to previous generations of cables. Both individual pairs are shielded with an extra layer of shielding over the entire cable. The shield needs to be grounded and the Cat7 also requires a special GigaGate45 (GG45) connector to take advantage of the higher performance features.
All in all, the Cat6a has almost the same performance as the Cat7, but at a lower price. Most of our AV and IP surveillance customers choose Cat6a STP or Cat6a FTP. Both can shield alien crosstalk and interference around high voltage lines.
Cat7 is suitable for data centers and large enterprise networks.
